Spaghetti Bolognase

Just-a-like-ma-mumma-made-it...well...not quite!

In my house my dad is the KING of spaghetti bolognase, but since being at uni I've come up with a few tweaks, and I reckon I could give him a run for his money!

This is my scrum-diddly-umptios Spaghetti Bolognase, even if I do say so myself!

(Look out for my cheats on how to make it super cheap, on a budget)

Saag Aloo

I CANNOT, get an Indian from the local take-away without ordering a side of saag aloo, I just love it! Saag Aloo is a Northern Indian dish made up of spinach (saag) and potatoes (aloo). I tried looking for a relatively authentic recipe on the internet that wasn't too fattening, and didn't include Ghee. After a few tweaks by myself, this is the recipe I came up with! It tasted really authentic, and was extremely easy to make!

You'll never need to order a take-away again!

Enjoy

Tuna Salad

I apologise for the lack of main meal recipes and abundance of salads at the minute. The only time of the day I really get to think about food is at lunch when I take a break from revision! Dinner is often something out of a jar, so I'm trying to eat as healthily and as sensibly as possible for at least one meal of the day!

Here's today's addition! I didn't have much salad veg left so raided the cupboard to find tinned tuna and sweetcorn...now what could I do with that...

Simple Bread and Butter Pudding

One of my all time favourite desserts is bread and butter pudding!

I don't have any sentimental, nostalgic stories about my Nan or Mum cooking it on a Sunday, or anything quite as special...instead, I had my first taste of bread and butter at a very posh wedding! It was one of the nicest things I'd ever had! My mum found it so funny when I came home, telling her about this 'super-posh-must-be-hard-to-make-dessert' that she taught me there and then!

It's brilliant when you have left-over stale (possibly even mouldy) bread...(don't forget to pick the mould off!) AND I think it's a brilliant way of getting one of your five a day as a student!

It's cheap as chips, and this is my quick and easy students version.

(I apologise for the low quality of the photo I did not have my camera to hand!)

Crunchy Italian Cheese Salad

Summer’s on its way and that means one thing! Yummy salads!

A salad will NEVER fill you up on a winters day, but in the summer a salad is the perfect dish to keep you going throughout the day and as I’ve said many times, they really don’t have to be boring!
